Heart Space Meditation
What does it feel to be truly, unconditionally loved?
There is a peace, a sense of deep safety and security.
It chips away at long held mental beliefs about your worth. The part of you that thinks you must be a certain way, or do a certain thing in order to be loved.
It relieves tension. It allows space for you to breathe. Your nervous system relaxes.
Your thoughts fight it.
You try to mentally find out all the ways you aren’t worthy of that love. Because there’s no way it can be that easy. You’ve always thought you had to do something to get it.
Just for a second, can you let your guard down a bit?
Loosen the shoulders.
Breathe in a way that feels good.
Relax the shoulders even more.
Let your body melt into relaxation. One arm at a time. The belly. The neck and chest. The legs. The head. The feet. Let your body feel what its like to relax just for a moment. And breathe.
Breathe from the belly, or from the place that feels most comfortable and nurturing to you.
Let the breath nurture you. Going into all the spaces in your body that need some extra lovin.
Be aware of the thoughts that run through your mind. Letting them run their course. And come back to focusing on the relaxing feeling in your body. Breathing in, and out.
What does unconditional love feel like?
Call it in. Let the energy of unconditional love wake up your cells. Be curious. What does it feel like to you? Are there spaces in your body that feel blocked to it?
Just notice. You can take note for later if you want to come back to it.
Now imagine your heart center has its own energy, a feeling it wants to show you. Let the energy of your heart begin to flow from your chest into your arms, into your belly. Visualize and feel it moving throughout your body. Soften the mind. Be curious. We can analyze later. But for this moment, let’s just feel.
The energy flows through you, moving into spaces in your body that could use a little extra. This flow of energy is endless. There is no limit. It comes from an infinite source of energy within you. You can even let it spill out the bottoms of your feet. Making a puddle below. You can watch it move up and out through the top of your head. Breathing and witnessing this constant flow.
As it flows, the space in your chest begins to expand and feel open. You feel a portal here, a portal of your own heart. Is there a message here for you? Can you listen to what it says? Do you feel the sense of expansion? The lightness. A space of being held. A knowing. An unconditional love.
It is here where we find our connection to all that is. It is here where we can feel our divine connection. Our oneness.
A dear friend. A coming home.
And we can access it any time we want.
Like strengthening a muscle, we must practice to strengthen our conscious connection to our heart space. It takes practice. For some it may be easy, for some it may seem totally foreign. All is perfect and exactly as it should be in the present moment.
I personally find that the more often I practice the heart space meditation, the quicker and easier it is for me to access it when in need. The longer I go without tapping into this space, the louder my mind gets. I find that it’s a constant ebb and flow of living from my heart space and then living from my thinking mind. But the more I practice, the quieter my mind gets in my daily life, and the easier it is for me to access my heart wisdom in my everyday life.
We are all here to connect in this way. Only living a life from the mental space leads to stress, anxiety and depression. When we find balance between living from the heart space and living from the mental space, we are able to see the gifts in both, and use each wisely and intentionally depending on circumstance.
You are loved.
You are safe.
You are not alone.
